| Background:
The Council on October 28, after nominating the 12 applicants, approved cancelling the Special Meeting at 6 p.m. on November 9. to hear comments from applicants for the vacant seat on the Council arising from the resignation of Bill Strom on August 1, 2009. The Town Code of Ordinances requires that this matter be scheduled for consideration at this evening's regular Business Meeting. The Council may make an appointment this evening. If an appointment is not made tonight, the Code requires that the vacancy be back on the Council's agenda for the November 23 Business Meeting. When this was last discussed, at the October 28 Business Meeting, a majority of Council members indicated at that time that an appointment would not be considered this evening but would be delayed until the new Council takes office in December. |
