Authorization for the Manager to Execute an Interlocal Agreement with Orange Public Transportation for the Purchase of Two Light Transit Vehicles - ARRA. (R-7) Council Goal 4: Maintain and Improve Community Facilities and Services. |

| Background: Orange Public Transportation has requested that the Town apply for and manage $183,000 in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds to purchase two 28’ Light Transit Vehicles. An inter-local agreement is being developed that will allow the Town to manage the grant. The Town will lease the vehicles to Orange Public Transportation. | |||

| Fiscal Note: The funds will come directly to the Town of Chapel Hill and will be managed by Chapel Hill Transit staff. Staff time associated with this project will be covered by the grant. There are no local funds involved in the project. | |||

| Recommendations: That the Council approve the attached resolution authorizing the Manager to execute the agreement for the purchase of transit vehicles. | |||
