Approve Agreement for Annual Mosquito Control Grant Funds (R-4) |

| Background: The Town applies for state funds annually to cover some of the eligible costs associated with mosquito control. Receipt of funding depends on the availability of state funds and the number of eligible applicants. Historically, this revenue account has been erratic and funding amounts unpredictable. However, based on funds received in recent years, we anticipate reimbursement of approximately 25 percent of our costs for Fiscal Year 2010-11. Accordingly, we estimate that the Town will receive approximately $3,125 next fiscal year. | |||

| Fiscal Note: The annual Stormwater Management Fund budget for mosquito control is approximately $12,500. By entering into the grant program, we anticipate recouping approximately 25 percent of the budgeted costs associated with mosquito control in Fiscal Year 2010-11. | |||

| Recommendations: That the Council authorize the Town Manager to enter into an agreement with the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Division of Environmental Health for annual mosquito control grant funds. | |||
