| Background:
Adoption of the attached resolution would award bids for the purchase of a regenerative air sweeper truck and two front loading garbage trucks. Regenerative air sweeper trucks play an integral role in Public Works and Drainage operations. The sweepers help to keep the curbs and gutters clean and significantly reduce the amount of debris that collects in the drainage system, thus reducing sediments and improving water quality. Front loading garbage trucks are used to collect solid waste from commercial clients. Funds for the purchase of these vehicles are included in the Fiscal Year 2009-10 budget. |

| Fiscal Note: The Street Sweeper will cost $171,384 and the Front Loading Garbage trucks will cost $204,400 each. The total fiscal impact of these purchases is $580,184, which is available from the Fiscal Year 2009-10 Vehicle Replacement Fund. | |||
