SUBJECT: Horace Williams Citizens’ Committee Progress Report

I last reported to you on the progress of the Horace Williams Citizens' Committee on June 9. At that time, the Town Council requested that the Committee submit its recommended principles at the September 22 Council meeting. Early in July, Mayor Foy requested that the Committee accelerate its work schedule so that Council will have as much Committee input as possible well before the University submits its conceptual plan for Carolina North.
On behalf of the Committee, I am pleased to transmit the Committee’s second progress report adopted on Thursday, August 21. This report contains principles and goals. We will meet to finalize accompanying strategies in September. A final report will be submitted at the Council's September 22 meeting.
