SUBJECT:        Request for Funding for the Familias del Pueblo Road Race

 

DATE:             September 8, 2003

 

 

On August 25 the Council received a petition from Winkie La Force on behalf of El Pueblo, Inc., requesting a contribution to support this year’s Familias del Peublo Road Race, scheduled for September 20 (see Attachment 1).  Contributions raised will support El Pueblo’s Youth Leadership Development Program as well as El Centro Latino, a non-profit organization located in Carrboro that provides services to the Latino community in Orange County.

 

Adoption of the attached budget ordinance would appropriate $1,000 from the Council Contingency Fund for this purpose.
