SUMMARY OF BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN

ADVISORY BOARD ACTION

 

Subject:                       Bicycle Facilities Policy

 

Meeting Date:           October 28, 2003

 

Recommendation:      The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board recommends that the Council revise the Bicycle Facilities Policy in accordance with the resolution proposed by Council Members Ward and Harrison with the following rewording of bullet No.2:

 

 

• Striped bicycle lanes will normally be provided on newly constructed or reconstructed Arterial Streets; however, when existing Arterial Streets that do not currently have bicycle lanes are resurfaced they will normally be re-striped with bicycle lanes to the extent practicable.
