SUBJECT:       Change of Title for Assistant Town Manager

 

DATE:             November 24, 2003

 

 

Enactment of the attached ordinance would change the title of the position occupied by Florentine A. Miller from Assistant Town Manager to Deputy Town Manager effective January 1, 2004.

 

This change in title is recommended in recognition of the role that Ms. Miller will have as the senior assistant general manager. 

 

Sonna Loewenthal will retire effective December 31, 2003, and her replacement will continue to focus on management of capital improvement projects, including the new Town Operations Center.

 

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE POSITION CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLAN DATED 2003-06-09/O-3 (2003-11-24/O-9)

 

BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Ordinance establishing a Position Classification and Pay Plan (2003-06-09/O-3) is amended as follows:

 

One of the two Assistant Town Manager positions in the Manager’s Office will be changed from Assistant Town Manager to Deputy Town Manager effective January 1, 2003.

 

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this amendment is authorized effective November 24, 2003.
