AGENDA #4e
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor and Town Council
FROM: W. Calvin Horton, Town Manager
SUBJECT: Removal of Handicap Parking Space on Columbia Place West
DATE: March 22, 2004
The attached ordinance would remove a handicap parking space on Columbia Place West at house number 213.
We recommend enactment of the attached ordinance.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
In response to a request from the Columbia Place Homeowners’ Association, at its January 13, 2003 meeting, the Town Council approved establishment of a handicap parking space at 213 Columbia Place West to accommodate the needs of a physically handicapped resident. Please see Attachment 1 for an area map.
We recently received a letter (Attachment 2) from the Columbia Place Homeowners’ Association advising us that the physically handicapped resident has now moved out of 213 Columbia Place West, and the Association requests that the handicap space be removed. We investigated this matter and we agree with the Homeowners’ Association’s request to remove the handicap parking space in question.
MANAGER’S RECOMMENDATION
That the Council enact the attached ordinance that would remove a handicap parking space at 213 Columbia Place West.
