SUMMARY OF COMMUNITY DESIGN COMMISSION ACTION

Subject: University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill - Development Plan Modification No 2

Meeting Date: May 19, 2004

Recommendation:  That the Council approves the Development Plan Modification No 2 for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with the adoption of Resolution A as recommended in Attachment 1, Evaluation of Application, dated May 4, 2004 (starting on page 13).

Nay:     None

Issues/Concerns:       Issues raised by three Commission members included:

· Safety of proposed pedestrian bridges.

· Preservation of trees between South Road and the Sonja H. Stone Black Cultural Center.

· Possibility of Town reviewing proposed building elevations for the Morehead Planetarium addition.
