AGENDA #4w

MEMORANDUM

TO:                  Mayor and Town Council

FROM:            W. Calvin Horton, Town Manager

SUBJECT:       Fees for Roll-Cart Commercial Solid Waste Collection Service

DATE:             June 30, 2004

The attached resolution incorporates a fee schedule for roll-cart commercial refuse collection services inadvertently left off of the solid waste service fees adopted as part of the budget for fiscal 2004-05.

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION

We presently serve eighteen businesses which do not require dumpster service but do require solid waste service using roll carts.   The existing fee for this service is $250 per week for up to seven containers, and $36 per week for each additional container.  While revenue from this fee for service is included in the budget, it was inadvertently left out of the fee schedule.  The attached resolution incorporates this service in the schedule for solid waste service fees for fiscal 2004-05.

RECOMMENDATION

We recommend that the Council approve the attached resolution incorporating the fees for roll-cart commercial solid waste collection service in the schedule of fees for fiscal 2004-05.
