PETITION FROM COUNCIL MEMBER CAM HILL:

Tonight I ask that the Chapel Hill Town Council consider the following:

Whereas the air quality in our town is decreasing.

Whereas noise pollution in our community worsens daily.

Whereas airborne dust and debris caused by leaf blowers is a threat to public health and safety.

Whereas many communities throughout our country (including Los Angeles Co., CA) have banned or restricted the use of gasoline powered leaf blowers.

I propose that we ban the use of gasoline powered leaf blowers within the city limits of Chapel Hill.
