SUBJECT:       Budget Amendment to Use Contingency for a Facilitator for the Special Committee to Consider Renaming of Airport Road and for the Village Project

 

DATE:             October 27, 2004

 

 

The attached budget amendment would use $15,000 from Council contingency funds to cover the cost of a facilitator for the Special Committee to Consider Renaming Airport Road and $500 for the Village Project for Car Free Day.

 

BACKGROUND

 

On September 13, the Council concurred to use up to $20,000 for a facilitator for the Special Committee to Consider Renaming Airport Road.  The Council Committee reviewed proposals from facilitators and selected Open Source Leadership Strategies, Inc.’s proposal for a $15,000 contract.

 

On September 27, the Council resolved to provide $500 to Village Project for Car Free Day.

 

RECOMMENDATION

 

We recommend that the Council enact the attached budget amendment.

BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Budget Ordinance entitled “An Ordinance Concerning Appropriations and the Raising of Revenue for the Fiscal Year Beginning July 1, 2004” as duly adopted on June 14, 2004, and the same is hereby amended as follows:
