MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE

CHAPEL HILL TOWN COUNCIL

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2004, AT 5:00 P.M.

Mayor Kevin Foy called the meeting to order at 5:10 pm.  Mayor Foy, Mayor Pro Tem Edith Wiggins, and Council Members Sally Greene, Ed Harrison, Cam Hill, Mark Kleinschmidt, Bill Strom, Dorothy Verkerk, and Jim Ward were in attendance.  Also in attendance were Town Manager W. Calvin Horton and Town Attorney Ralph Karpinos.

The Mayor explained that the purpose of the meeting was to conduct the annual evaluations of the Manager and Attorney.  The Council went into closed session as authorized by N.C. General Statute Sec. 143-318.11(6), to consider these personnel matters.

The Council met with Town Manager Cal Manager in closed session, and after he left the room, the Council discussed his performance.  After that discussion, the Council met again briefly with Mr. Horton.

The Council then met with the Town Attorney Ralph Karpinos in closed session, and after he left the room, the Council discussed his performance.  After that discussion, the Council met again briefly with Mr. Karpinos.

The Council ended the closed session at 8:05 p.m.  The meeting was then adjourned.
