SUBJECT:       Concept Plan: Castalia at Meadowmont

DATE:             January 19, 2005

Tonight the Council considers a Concept Plan for a proposal by the Castalia Group LLC to construct an office and residential complex.

This proposal involves amending the Meadowmont Master Land Use Plan and constructing a

76, 000 square foot building with 180 parking spaces.  The proposed development is located in the Meadowmont Development on the east side of West Barbee Chapel Hill Road, at the intersection of Old Barn Land and Oval Park Place.  In accordance with the Land Use Management Ordinance, there has been no staff review of this Concept Plan.

We recommend that the Council review this Concept Plan, receive comments from the Community Design Commission and citizens, and adopt a resolution transmitting comments to the applicant.
