SUBJECT:       Legislative Agenda Petition

The Council has requested more information about my petition to include on our legislative agenda a request for the repeal of the state law that prohibits public employees from engaging in collective bargaining.

In response to that request, I've asked Professor David Zonderman of NCSU to make a brief presentation to us tonight. He is a history professor who specializes in labor issues. I believe his presentation will be helpful in putting this issue into context.
