Subject: Country Club/Gimghoul Intersection Endorsement

Mayor Foy, Council, and Staff:

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Gimghoul area homeowners, we wish to fully endorse the work of the Traffic Safety Committee, the Town staff, and University staff who have designed the traffic light and intersection at Country Club and Gimghoul Rd.

The Committee (Nancy Whittington, Linda Folda, Benjamin Brodey, and Diana Crawford) spent many thoughtful hours ensuring that this intersection will be as safe and accessible as possible in preparation for the greatly increased traffic that will use it when the University's Cobb Parking Deck becomes operational.  They have conferred and collaborated successfully with experts from the Town and the University and always put public interests first.  This project demonstrates the kind of teamwork that benefits all parties now and for years to come. 

Our thanks to ALL involved to this point.

Now we strongly urge the Council to approve the recommended plan it receives for consideration on Monday, February 28, and request that the construction phase of the project begin immediately so that the intersection can be completed this year.  Residents of Gimghoul are happy to continue to collaborate on the project until the new intersection is operational.

Residents of the Neighborhood and visitors are looking  forward to the results.
