SUMMARY OF BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN

ADVISORY BOARD ACTION

 

 

Subject:                      Dobbins Hill Phase II, Application for Special Use Permit Modification

 

 

Meeting Date:            March 23, 2005

 

 

Recommendation:     The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board recommends that the Council approve the application as set out in Resolution A of the Town Manager’s Report except as follows:

 

1.      Stipulation 14 “Internal Pedestrian Connections”:

 

·         Delete first bullet (“Between Building #2 and proposed Building A”),

·         Add new bullet “Between Building # 2 and parking lot rear of proposed Building A”.

 

2.      Stipulation 15 “Bicycle Parking”:

 

·         That the development shall provide 32 Class I spaces in the new buildings and 16 Class II spaces through-out the development.

 

Vote:                           8 – 0.

 

Aye:    Kate Millard, Heidi Perry, Tim Saunders, Claire Millar, Wayne Pein, Jed Dube, Nick Lurie and Ray Piplani.

 

Reasons:                     

1.      To protect the privacy of existing residents.

2.      To provide bicycle parking facilities for the new apartments. The first phase of Dobbins Hill was constructed before the Town had adopted bicycle parking standards.
