SUBJECT:      Ordinance Implementing Revised Organization in the Planning Department

 

DATE:            October 24, 2005

 

PURPOSE

 

The purpose of this memorandum is to recommend classification and pay grade changes for specified positions in the Planning Department to implement the revised organization discussed at the October 12 Work Session of the Council.

 

A copy of a detailed explanation of the proposed changes discussed at the October 12 Work Session is provided as Attachment 1.  The recommended organization includes one additional Transportation Planner position paid for with grant funds and a change to a Community Development position from two-thirds to full-time.

 

RECOMMENDATION

 

We recommend that the Council enact the attached ordinance to implement the recommended changes effective October 25, 2005.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE POSITION CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLAN FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE TOWN OF CHAPEL HILL, SUCH AMENDMENT TO BE EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 24, 2005 (2005-10-24/O-2)

 

BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the following amendments are authorized effective October 24, 2005:
