A RESOLUTION AWARDING A BID FOR INSTALLATION OF A STANDBY ELECTRIC POWER GENERATOR AT THE CHAPEL HILL POLICE DEPARTMENT (2005-10-24/R-6b)
WHEREAS, the Town of Chapel Hill has solicited formal bids by legal notice on September 1, 2005 and September 4, 2005 in accordance with G.S. 143-129 for installation of a standby electric power generator at the Chapel Hill Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the following bids were received and opened on September 27, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Bryant-Durham Services, Inc. has offered a negotiated bid of $254,750 based on value engineering cost reductions in the amount of $31,250; and
WHEREAS, funding in the amount of $258,500 is available in the fiscal year 2005-06 Capital Improvements Budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Town authorizes the Town Manager to execute a contract with the lowest responsive bidder, Bryant-Durham Services, Inc., in the amount $254,750.
