subject:      Appointments to the Inclusionary Zoning Task Force

On June 27, 2005, the Council established a Task Force on Inclusionary Zoning, to be made up of 15-18 members and to include without limitation, persons with the following professional experience and interest:

• Residential Land Development
• Affordable Housing Development (3)
• Banking (Development Finance)
• Residential Real Estate
• Home Mortgage Finance
• Home Building/Contracting
• Chamber of Commerce
• Economist/Urban Planning (academic background)
• Council (2)
• UNC Housing Staff
• Neighborhood Representatives (2)
• Persons needing workforce housing (2)

On October 10, 2005, the Council appointed nine members to the Task Force.  The current membership includes 3 Neighborhood Representatives, 1 Economist/Urban Planning (academic background), 1 Affordable Housing Development, 1 Home Building/Contracting, and Affordable Housing Development, 1 Residential Land Development, 1 Residential Land Development, and Chamber of Commerce, and 1 Home Building/Contracting.

On October 24, 2005, the Council appointed Council Members Greene and Kleinschmidt to the Task Force.

Tonight, the Council may make additional appointments to six to nine vacancies on the Inclusionary Zoning Task Force.
