A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF PLANS FOR CREATION OF CONSERVATION EASEMENTS ON TOWN-OWNED OPEN SPACE ALONG MORGAN CREEK (2005-11-21/R-20)

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have received and considered the report and recommendation of the Council Committee on Conservation Easements on Town-Owned Open Space;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council affirms its interest in the establishment of conservation easements on Town-owned open space along Morgan Creek.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council Committee and Town Manager are authorized to proceed with the steps described in the Council Committee report of November 21, 2005, and return to the Council with a final recommendation for establishment of conservation easements on Town-owned open space along the Morgan Creek corridor south of town generally from and including Merritt Pasture west to the Carrboro town limits, on both sides of the Creek.
