SUBJECT: Budget Amendment for NC 86 Landscape Upgrades

On January 24, 2000, the Council adopted a resolution authorizing the Town Manager to utilize $50,000 in the Town’s available fund balance for landscape improvements to the newly widened section of NC 86. The attached budget amendment was inadvertently omitted from the January 24 agenda item and is necessary to make these funds available.
The $50,000 in Town funds will be matched by $50,000 in discretionary NCDOT enhancement funds and added to the landscaping funds in the original project construction budget for a total landscaping budget of $150,000. Town staff will work with staff from NCDOT to develop a planting plan for installation in the fall of 2000.
