SUBJECT: Merritt Pasture Access Committee First Meeting

DATE: February 28, 2000

The first meeting of the Merritt Pasture Access Committee, delayed because of heavy weather earlier in the season, took place on February 15, 2000. All members of the committee were in attendance. (See attached membership and address list) A representative of the North Carolina Botanical Garden was also present.

Staff provided sufficient background information.

The committee chose as its chair and vice-chair Joe Herzenberg and Sally Greene.

The committee also set up a schedule of meetings, including two visits to Merritt Pasture and nearby Town-owned land and at least one public forum.

It’s our hope to have the first draft of our report in six months (August) and a final draft in nine months (November).
