SUBJECT: Additional Cost Information for Annexation Areas 1 and 2

This memorandum responds to a Council member's question about costs of Town services, raised during the Council's January 31, 2000 discussion of the proposed annexations; Annexation Service Reports for Area 1 and Area 2 were approved by the Council on January 31, 2000 (R-9). We attach these reports here for reference. (They remain unchanged and are attached here for reference only.) The question posed on January 31 was "would it show the affects of the proposed annexations on the cost of Town services more accurately to add the cost of the newly annexed homes to the budget and then divide by the total number of dwelling units in the Town?"
We offer the following information in response, which describes the change in total cost of town services per dwelling unit for the 2000-2001 fiscal year that would result from these two annexations.
