SUBJECT:       Nominations to the Orange Water and Sewer Authority and the Planning Board

 

DATE:             April 24, 2000

 

 

This evening, the Council may make nominations to two seats on the Orange Water and Sewer Authority and two seats on the Planning Board for terms of office having an expiration date of June 30, 2000.

 

Pat Davis, current Town representative to the Orange Water and Sewer Authority, has requested that his term be extended for one year, to June 30, 2001, in order to complete ongoing projects.  A copy of Mr. Davis’ request is attached.  Mr. Davis has served two full terms and is ineligible for reappointment for a full term.  Adoption of the attached resolution R-5b would extend Mr. Davis’ term for one year.  This would bring the number of vacancies at June 30 to one.

 

The attached resolution R-5a would nominate applicants to these two boards.  Appointments are scheduled for the May 8, 2000 meeting.

 

The Council’s schedule called for nominations to be made to the Technology Committee this evening.  At this time, we have not received applications for the three positions that will become available on June 30.  We will continue to advertise to fill vacancies on this board.

A RESOLUTION NOMINATING APPLICANTS TO VARIOUS ADVISORY BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS (2000-04-24/R-5a)

 

WHEREAS, the applications for service on an advisory board or commission or other committees listed below have been received; and

 

WHEREAS, the applicants have been determined by the Town Clerk to be eligible to serve;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the following names are placed in nomination to serve on an advisory board or commission:

A RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE TERM OF PAT DAVIS TO THE ORANGE WATER AND SEWER AUTHORITY (2000-04-24/R-5b)

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council extends the term of Pat Davis to a Town seat on the Orange Water and Sewer Authority for one year, with an expiration date of June 30, 2001.
