SUBJECT: Certificate of
Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the Town of Chapel Hill’s
1998-99 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report

The Government Finance Officers Association has
announced that the 1998-99 comprehensive annual financial report for the Town
of Chapel Hill qualifies for a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in
Financial Reporting. The Certificate of
Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and
financial reporting.
The Town also received the Distinguished Budget
Presentation Award for the same fiscal year. Only 34 of North Carolina’s 627 units of government received both
the Certificate of Achievement and the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.
The Certificate of Achievement plaque will be
shipped to the Town in approximately eight weeks.
