SUBJECT:       Actions for Adopting the 2000-2001 Budget

DATE:             June 26, 2000

Agenda Item 6 includes several resolutions and ordinances necessary for completion and adoption of the 2000-2001 Budget.  These actions include the following:

a.                   Adoption of a resolution approving expanded transit services (Option 1-A) contingent upon award of State transit grant funds.

b.                  Adoption of a resolution authorizing contracts with the University and the Town of Carrboro for provision of public transportation services.

c.                   Adoption of Project Ordinance for 2000-2001 Transit Planning Grant.

d.                  Adoption of a resolution approving user fee policies, fee schedules, and facility use policies for various services and facilities.

e.                   Ordinance levying a gross receipts tax on rental vehicles.

f.                    Adoption of a resolution approving the 2000-2005 Capital Improvements Program.

g.                   Adoption of an ordinance establishing the Classification and Pay Plan effective July 1, 2000.

h.                   Adoption of an ordinance establishing the Classification and Pay Plan effective October 20, 2000.

i.                     Adoption of an ordinance adopting the 2000-2001 operating budget.
