FROM: Joyce A. Smith, Town Clerk
SUBJECT: Extending a Term on the Housing and Community Development Advisory Board
DATE: July 5, 2000
The Housing and Community Development Advisory Board has requested that the term of Margaret Edwards be extended for another three-year term (see attached). Ms. Edwards has served two full terms.
Section II.F.c. of the Council’s Procedures Manual states:
“No one shall serve on an advisory board or commission for more than two consecutive full terms. Following a one-year absence, an individual is eligible to serve again on the same board or commission. The Council may reappoint an individual to a board or commission for an additional one-year term following two consecutive terms, by resolution for the purpose of completing ongoing projects.”
Based on the Council’s Procedures Manual, Ms. Edwards is ineligible to serve another three-year term, but may be appointed to a one-year term.
Adoption of the attached resolution would extend Ms. Edwards’ term for one additional year, to expire on June 30, 2001.
A recommendation from the Board is attached.
