AGENDA # 5a
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor and Town Council
FROM: W. Calvin Horton, Town Manager
SUBJECT: Request to Remove Stop Signs Recently Installed at the Intersection of Kenmore Road/Saddle Ridge/Bridle Run
DATE: July 5, 2000
At its June 12, 2000 meeting, the Council received the attached petition from Ms. Elizabeth Thompson requesting removal of stop signs recently installed at the intersection of Kenmore Road/Saddle Ridge/Bridle Run. A copy of the petition is attached for reference.
The stop signs in question were installed last year at the direction of the Council in response to a petition submitted by Mr. Mickey Ewell. A copy of the May 24, 1999 agenda item regarding these stop signs is attached.
We did not recommend installation of the stop signs last year, and conditions have not changed significantly to cause us to modify that recommendation.
If the Council desires to remove the stop signs as requested by the petitioner, adoption of the attached ordinance would authorize removal of the existing stop signs on Kenmore Road at its intersection with Saddle Ridge and Bridle Run.
