SUBJECT:            Budget Amendment for Gateway Design Competition and Contract

DATE:              November 13, 2000

The attached budget ordinance would transfer $13,000 from the Council’s current year  contingency account for the Gateway design competition and contract approved by the Council on June 26, 2000.

BACKGROUND

On June 26, 2000, the Council adopted a resolution to initiate a design competition for the Northeast Entranceway Area, agreeing to allocate $13,000 from the current year’s budget to cover the expenses of administration of the project and an award of $5,000 to the winner of the design competition. 

RECOMMENDATION

We recommend adoption of the attached budget ordinance allocating $13,000 the Council’s Contingency account for this project.


AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND “THE ORDINANCE CONCERNING APPROPRIATIONS AND THE RAISING OF REVENUE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 2000 (2000-11-13/O-1)

BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Budget Ordinance entitled “An Ordinance Concerning Appropriations and the Raising of Revenue for the Fiscal Year Beginning July 1, 2000” as duly adopted on June 26, 2000, be and the same is hereby amended as follows:
