AGENDA #5a
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor and Town Council
FROM: W. Calvin Horton, Town Manager
SUBJECT: Request to Remove Stop Signs Installed at the Intersection of Kenmore Road/Saddle Ridge/Bridle Run
DATE: November 27, 2000
At its October 23, 2000 meeting, the Council received the attached petition, which was resubmitted by Ms. Elizabeth Thompson, requesting removal of stop signs at the intersection of Kenmore Road/Saddle Ridge/Bridle Run. A copy of the petition is attached for reference.
This petition was previously considered by the Council at its July 5, 2000 meeting, at which time the Council took no action on the petitioner’s request. A copy of the July 5 agenda item is attached for reference. The stop signs in question were installed last year at the direction of the Council in response to a petition submitted by Mr. Mickey Ewell.
If the Council desires to remove the stop signs as requested by the petitioner, adoption of the attached ordinance would authorize removal of the existing stop signs on Kenmore Road at its intersection with Saddle Ridge and Bridle Run. No action is required if the Council wishes to retain the stop signs.
