SUBJECT: Recycled Products Purchasing Cooperative

Attached is information regarding The Recycled Products Purchasing Cooperative. This is to petition the Council to request that the staff look into whether there would be financial benefits to the Town to join this cooperative and report back to the Council on this program during the upcoming budget discussions.
This is also to petition the Council to request the staff to report to the Council on progress made on previous requests to Orange County, as well as Carrboro, City Schools and OWASA for joint purchasing arrangements, as well as jointly hiring a new energy employee to look at ways to conserve energy with salary being contingent on energy savings. Information is attached regarding requests from 1995 and 1998.
