AGENDA #4f
TO: Mayor and Town Council
FROM: W. Calvin Horton, Town Manager
SUBJECT: Handicap Parking Space on Columbia Place East
DATE: January 8, 2001
The attached ordinance would establish a handicap parking space on Columbia Place East at house number 313 to accommodate the needs of a physically handicapped resident.
We received a request from the Columbia Place Homeowners’ Association for
the designation of a handicap parking space at 313 Columbia Place East. The
Homeowners’ Association provided us the attached written request for this,
because the resident at that address has a mobility impairment. Please see the attached map.
We investigated
the existing conditions and determined that no driveway or garage exists for 313
Columbia Place East. The proposed handicap space would help assure that the
resident would have direct access to the house from a parking space. We note, however, that the space would be
available for use by any persons with a handicap.
That the Council adopt the attached ordinance that would establish a handicap space at 313 Columbia Place East.
