A Council member requested information on the incomes of Chapel Hill employees compared to area income statistics.
Below is the 2000 chart of incomes in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area).[1] These are the income figures often used for determining eligibility for governmental programs; 60% of the median income for a family of 4 is the figure used by the Town to determine eligibility for housing programs. The chart also shows the number and percentage of full-time employees with salaries at these income levels:
