A Council member requested information on vacant Town positions. Attached is the listing of vacancies as of April 18, 2001.
I have reviewed the list and, except as noted, believe that the positions should be filled to provide Town services.

[1] These positions have been frozen for two fiscal years and are not currently funded; no funding is recommended for 2001-2002.
[2] This position is not funded now, but is recommended to be funded in 2001-2002 from the Capital Improvements Program. The employee would oversee Town construction projects.
[3] These positions are being held vacant and will be eliminated as Curbside Trash collection is implemented.
[4] This vacant Police Officer position and its funding are recommended to be transferred to the Finance Department for creation of a Computer Support Desk position.
