SUBJECT: Letter of Thanks to Chancellor Moeser Regarding Chapel Hill Flying Club

University Chancellor James Moeser has decided to terminate the Chapel Hill Flying Club’s privileges at Horace Williams Airport. I request that the Council endorse the attached letter to Chancellor Moeser, thanking him for this action.

Dear Chancellor Moeser:

The Chapel Hill Town Council sincerely thanks you for your decision to terminate the Chapel Hill Flying Club's privileges at Horace Williams Airport. This action demonstrates genuine responsiveness on the part of the University to safety concerns expressed by the Council, the school system, and the airport's neighbors. Without doubt, your action will reduce the level of activity at Horace Williams Airport and improve its safety record.

We also applaud your willingness to make this decision in a timely fashion.
