SUBJECT:       Petition for Traffic Calming Study Committee for Weaver Dairy Road

 

DATE:             July 2, 2001

 

We have heard from many citizens regarding safety issues on Weaver Dairy Road.  With this petition, I ask that the Council appoint a traffic calming study committee for Weaver Dairy Road. 

 

This committee should be composed of citizens in the area, similar to the citizens’ committee that was appointed to make recommendations for safety improvements in the Glen Lennox area. 

 

I would like the Council to appoint this committee to study traffic calming and to:

 

·        make recommendations to the Council to forward to the N.C. Department of Transportation to be included in the road design, and;

 

·        suggest short-term solutions to be implemented in the interim.
