SUBJECT:       Certification of Firefighter Roster for Pension Fund

 

DATE:             August 27, 2001

 

 

State law (G.S. 118-38) requires annual certification of a list of active firefighters and reserve firefighters to the North Carolina Firefighters Pension Fund.  This is normally completed in June of each year but administrative delays in the North Carolina Department of Insurance, Fire and Rescue Services Department earlier this year resulted in the forms and lists not being sent out until late July.

 

RECOMMENDATION

 

That the Council adopt the following resolution.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CERTIFICATION OF FIREFIGHTERS (2001-08-27/R-7)

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Mayor is hereby authorized to certify to the North Carolina Firefighters’ Pension Fund the attached roster of firefighters employed by the Town of Chapel Hill on June 30, 2001.
