SUBJECT:        Designation of Delegate and Alternate Delegate to the NC League of Municipalities’ Annual Meeting in October and the National League of Cities Congress of Cities Meeting in December

 

DATE:            September 24, 2001

 

 

The N. C. League of Municipalities’ annual meeting this year will be in Asheville from October 14th through the 16th.

 

As in past years, the Council will need to formally designate a delegate and one alternate.  The League has requested that the Town notify the League of our delegates by Friday, September 28 (see Attachment 1).

 

The National League of Cities’ annual Congress of Cities meeting will be in Atlanta, Georgia December 4th through the 8th.

 

We are asked to designate a voting delegate and one alternate delegate for this meeting.  The League of Cities has requested that the Town notify them no later than October 5th of our delegates’ names (see Attachment 2).

 

The following resolution would designate delegates and alternates to these two meetings.

A RESOLUTION REGARDING DELEGATE AND ALTERNATE DELEGATES TO THE NC LEAGUE OF MUNICIPALITIES’ AND NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES’ ANNUAL MEETINGS  (2001-09-24/R-13)

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council hereby designates _________________________ to serve as the Council’s voting delegate and _________________________ to serve as its alternate to the NC League of Municipalities’ annual meeting October 14-16, 2001.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council hereby designates _________________________ to serve as the Council’s voting delegate to the National League of Cities’ 2001 Congress of Cities annual meeting December 4-8, 2001, and _________________________ to serve as the alternate delegate.
