SUBJECT:       Designating a Council Liaison to the Pritchard Park Committee

At the Council’s January 28, 2002 meeting, a petition was received from Terri Tyson, Vice-Chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission and Vice-Chair of the newly-formed Pritchard Park Committee.  The Pritchard Park Committee is made up of members of the Parks and Recreation Committee, the Chapel Hill Public Arts Commission, the Library Board of Trustees, and citizen representatives.  The Pritchard Park Committee is working to provide art or a sculpture garden to be located in Pritchard Park adjacent to the Chapel Hill Public Library.

 

The petition requested that a Council liaison be designated to serve on the Pritchard Park Committee.  The attached resolution would designate a Council member to serve as liaison to this Committee.

A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING A COUNCIL LIAISON TO SERVE ON THE PRITCHARD PARK COMMITTEE (2002-02-11/R-15)

 

WHEREAS, a petition was received at the Council’s January 28, 2002, Council meeting requesting that a Council liaison be appointed to serve on the Pritchard Park Committee; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council supports the Committee’s goal of providing art or a sculpture garden to be located in Pritchard Park adjacent to the Chapel Hill Public Library;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council appoints Pat Evans to serve as liaison to the Pritchard Park Committee.
