SUBJECT:       Question Regarding Commercial Garbage Collection

At the April 24^th budget work session, a Council member requested information related to commercial garbage collection. The specific question and answer are noted below.

What is the percentage of commercial garbage collection that is from multi-family residential housing?

• The side-loading refuse truck collects from 29 multi-family sites, with a total of 69 dumpsters; this represents 66% of the total containers serviced by the side-loading truck.

• Front-loading refuse trucks collect from 70 multi-family sites, with a total of 249 dumpsters; this represents 39% of the total containers serviced by front-loading trucks.

• The portion of total dumpsters serviced by the Town that is residential is 42%.
