ANIMAL PROTECTION SOCIETY DAY PROCLAMATION

 

 

WHEREAS, the Animal Protection Society Wildlife Rehabilitation Center has been open for almost five years; and

 

WHEREAS, it has cared for more than 4,000 wildlife animals; and

 

WHEREAS, much of this care is attributed to the efforts of Dr. Bobby Schopler and the Center's dedicated staff and numerous volunteers; and

 

WHEREAS, it has recently cared for an injured three-year-old American Bald Eagle; and

 

WHEREAS, the Chapel Hill community had an overwhelming response to the injured eagle and donated money and time to assist the Center in its endeavors.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Kevin C. Foy, Mayor of the Town of Chapel Hill, do hereby proclaim June 10, 2002 as

 

Animal Protection Society Day

 

In Chapel Hill, and urge all citizens to recognize and appreciate the dedicated work done by the Animal Protection Society and the Animal Protection Society volunteers.
