Dear Citizen:

 

You are invited to express your views at a public forum by the Mayor and Town Council of Chapel Hill at 7 pm on Wednesday, March 26th, regarding:

 

·        Town services and projects for the budget from July 1, 2003 through June 30, 2004.

·        capital improvement needs for 2003-20018.

·        how to use the 2003-2004 Community Development grant.

·        how to use the 2003-2004 federal Housing Capital grant for improvements, renovations and related items in public housing neighborhoods.

·        how to use the 2003-2004 federal HOME grant to local governments in Orange County.

·        how to use the 2003-2004 federal and State transit grants for capital projects, operating costs and transportation planning.

·        how to use Downtown Service District taxes in the year beginning on July 1, 2003.

 

The forum on March 26th is part of the Mayor and Council’s process for developing the 2003-2004 budget and related items listed above.

 

A preliminary report by the Town Manager regarding the budget for the 2003-204 service year will be available for citizens to review in the Town Manager’s and Clerk’s Offices in Town Hall and at the reference desk at the Chapel Hill Public Library on Friday March 21st.

 

An additional budget hearing will be held on May 14th regarding the Manager’s recommended budget and capital program.
