A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2005-2006 SIDEWALK AND BICYCLE FACILITIES CONSTRUCTION PLAN (2006-02-13/R-9)
WHEREAS, the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill has available approximately $132,000 in sidewalks and streets bond sale funds issued in 2004 for sidewalk construction projects in the 2005-2006 fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the Council approved a list of 31 projects for construction on January 24, 2005 of which 18 projects are either completed, under construction or scheduled for construction and 13 remain outstanding; and
WHEREAS, there are constraints to completing some of the outstanding projects; and
WHEREAS, the Council may pursue other sources of funding for sidewalk projects, including Direct Allocation funds from the State of North Carolina; and
WHEREAS, the Council has reviewed projects for possible use of these funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the remaining sidewalks and streets bond sale funds issued in 2004 be used to construct the sidewalk projects which remain from the 2004-2005 approved sidewalks construction plan supplemented by the following sidewalk projects:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council that the Town Manager is directed to apply for State Surface Transportation Direct Allocation funds or other State funding when available and allocate the appropriate local match from sidewalks and streets bond sale funds for street improvements on any State-maintained streets including but not limited to the following projects:
