A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL TO INITIATE DISCUSSIONS WITH ELECTED OFFICIALS FROM CARRBORO REGARDING A SMALL AREA PLAN PROCESS FOR THE WEST FRANKLIN STREET AND WEST ROSEMARY STREET AREA OF CHAPEL HILL AND MAIN STREET AREA OF CARRBORO (2006-02-27/R-7)

WHEREAS, Carrboro and Chapel Hill each have an interest in the ensuring orderly development in the West Franklin Street, Rosemary Street and Main Street area; and

WHEREAS, the Council wishes to initiate a Small Area Plan Process for the development of a small area plan to ensure coordination between Chapel Hill and Carrboro; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council appoints Council Members Cam Hill and Mark Kleinschmidt to initiate discussions with elected officials from Carrboro regarding a Small Area Plan process for the West Franklin, West Rosemary and Main Street area. 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council requests that the Carrboro Board of Aldermen appoint representatives for this purpose.
