A RESOLUTION NAMING THE OLD POST OFFICE PLAZA (2006-06-12/R-12)

WHEREAS, the Old Post Office Plaza has for years been the gathering place for citizens active in civil justice issues; and

WHEREAS, those citizens have spent countless hours in front of the Old Post Office Plaza collecting signatures and holding demonstrations and vigils;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council recommends that the Old Post Office Plaza be named Peace and Justice Plaza.
