A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE GOVERNOR’S CRIME COMMISSION 2006 GRANT (2006-06-26/R-10)

WHEREAS, the Governor’s Crime Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice has made funds available to enhance the quality of law enforcement services provided to local communities; and

WHEREAS, the 2006 Governor’s Crime Commission grant application in the amount of $37,482.38 was approved; and

WHEREAS, the funds would be used to improve the police department’s ability to address gang activity;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council authorizes the Town Manager to accept the Office of Justice Assistance 2006 grant funds and to make all necessary assurances.
