A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE TOWN MANAGER TO MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING IMPLEMENTATION OF THE RECENTLY ENACTED LEGISLATION TO ALLOW THE TOWN TO ACCEPT CONTRIBUTIONS FROM DEVELOPERS FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION (2006-09-27/R-3)

 

WHEREAS, the North Carolina General Assembly enacted local legislation at the Town’s request to authorize the Town to accept contributions from developers to be used for public transportation improvements, in lieu of construction of public transportation facilities;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Town Manger is hereby requested to study this new legislation and make recommendations to the Council for appropriate steps to implement this new authority.
