A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A RESIDENT OPPORTUNITIES AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY GRANT FROM THE U. S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT AND AUTHORIZE THE MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A PERFORMANCE AGREEMENT WITH CHAPEL HILL TRAINING OUTREACH PROJECT, INC. (2006-10-09/R-8)

WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development has made funds available to the Housing Department to develop self-sufficiency programs for residents of public housing; and

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the Town of Chapel Hill to provide expanded services to assist public housing residents with education and job training programs; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development has allocated $248,240 for the program; and

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the Town of Chapel Hill to enter into a performance agreement with Chapel Hill Training Outreach Project, Inc. to provide services for residents of public housing;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council hereby authorizes the Manager to accept the Resident Opportunities and Self-Sufficiency grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council hereby authorizes the Manager to enter into a performance agreement with Chapel Hill Training Outreach Project, Inc.
